My Faustian short story ‘Terms and Conditions’ appeared in HORLA magazine, the Home of Intelligent Horror, in July 2019. In the story, a young graduate heavily in debt is seduced by a credit card he can’t remember applying for, hypnotized by its invasive and predictive advertising, ambushed into greater debt and perplexed by the company’s customer service interfaces. Finally, he is taken apart by the carnivorous predator of a bank offering the card when it comes to collect its ‘pound of flesh’.
