An ancient, wizened Japanese man stricken with COVID in a Tokyo hospital ward demands to die. His caregivers, oblivious of his horrific secrets, cannot understand his behaviour. The ghosts of murdered justice haunt the guilty in ‘Terminal Repentance’, my short story which has just appeared in The Bosphorus Review of Books (Turkey’s premier English language literary magazine).
Be aware that this story has grim subject matter, but the terrible crimes of Unit 731 should never have taken so long to become public knowledge.
